 Asmethacin Drug Information

Anti-inflammatory painkillers such as asmethicin are sometimes called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or simply "anti-inflammatory drugs". Asmethacin is used to treat painful rheumatic diseases such as arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. Asmethacin relieves pain and inflammation.

Asmetasin is known to inhibit cyclo-oxygenase enzymes. It works by blocking the action of cyclooxygenase enzymes. Cyclooxygenase enzymes are involved in the production of chemicals that stimulate the response to the disease, and by blocking the action of cyclooxygenase enzymes, the stimulants are not released. As a result, by blocking the effect of the COX enzyme, the symptoms of pain and inflammation in arthritis are reduced.
