Medication Information: Antacids are drugs used to neutralize stomach acid. MGS (Adigel S) is a combination of three types of antacids: aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide and simethicone. Together, these three compounds counteract the effects of acid.

MGS Aluminum is used to treat mild cases of indigestion and heartburn. Antacids neutralize acid in the stomach for a short time, so the best time to take these medications is when symptoms appear or are occurring (for example, after eating heavy meals).
