Pharmacological information of bisoprolol

Medication Information:

Bisoprolol slows heart activity by stopping the transmission of messages from certain nerves to the heart. It does this by blocking small areas (called beta-adrenergic receptors) where messages are received by your heart.

As a result, your heart rate slows down and becomes less intense. Blood pressure in the blood vessels decreases, making it easier to pump blood around the body. Bisoprolol is prescribed for you when your blood pressure is too high or if you have heart disease in which your heart is not working properly, and bisoprolol is helpful in these situations. Because your heart uses less energy when you take this medicine, if you have angina, bisoprolol helps reduce chest pain.

Contraindications to the use of bisoprolol

Pay attention to the expiration date of the medicine and do not take it if the medicine in your hand has expired.

Never give the medicine to anyone else, even if you have the same symptoms.

Do not take more than the dose prescribed by your doctor.

Check for drug interactions and be sure to tell your doctor what other medications you are taking.

Drug interaction with bisoprolol

Drug interactions may alter drug performance and increase the risk of serious side effects. Make a list of all the medicines (including prescription / over-the-counter medicines and herbal products, especially fingolimod) you use, and share them with your doctor and pharmacist.

Do not change the dose of your medicine without consulting your doctor or stop taking the medicine

Check the labels on all your medicines (such as cold medicines, supplements and cough medicines, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and pain and fever relievers such as ibuprofen), as their ingredients may increase your heart rate or blood pressure. Ask your pharmacist how to use them so that you can use them safely.
