Tinsaparin is an anticoagulant that helps prevent harmful clots from forming. Tinzaparin is used in combination with warfarin to prevent blood vessel complications in people or to cause a heart attack. Tinsaparin is also used to prevent a type of blood clot called deep vein thrombosis (DVT), which can lead to blood clots in the lungs (pulmonary embolism). DVT may occur after certain types of surgery or in people who are in bed due to a long illness.
